The Role:Step into a fast-paced kitchen where café operations meet high-energy events and functions. This role offers a great mix of creativity and leadership, managing kitchen operations for private events and the wider community. The venue is the main food hub in a sport-focused location, with a strong focus on café-style dishes and functions.
As Head Chef, you’ll lead a passionate team, ensuring top-quality food in the café and across event spaces. A big part of the role is growing the function side of the business and boosting profits. Once settled, you’ll have the freedom to create new menus and bring your own flair to the kitchen. Plus,
enjoy the perk of mostly day shifts, with the occasional event keeping things exciting. This is a great opportunity for chefs looking to showcase their skills in a vibrant, fun environment.

Role Responsibilities: - Oversee kitchen operations for the café, functions, and events.
- Expand function offerings to drive revenue growth.
- Prepare buffet lunches for athletes twice a week.
- Manage inventory, supplies, and stock within budget.
- Ensure compliance with food safety and HACCP guidelines.
- Balance stock levels for high and low-demand periods.
- Lead menu development aligned with nutritional standards.
- Train and develop kitchen staff to maintain high standards.
- Optimise rosters and timesheets for operational efficiency.
Experience & Skills: - Proven experience in café, catering, or function environments is ideal
- Capable of adapting between low and high volume days
- Strong background in managing small to medium-sized kitchen teams
- Expertise in menu creation with a keen eye for food trends and nutritional awareness
- Flexible to work varied shifts, including weekends and events
