We are seeking an experienced and skilled Head Chef to lead the culinary direction of this stunning Brewery located just an hour out of Auckland.
Reporting to the owners you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of kitchen operations, including menu planning using beautiful locally sourced ingredients from the farmers and growers in the region and elevating the already established high standards being delivered.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute a unique and innovative menu featuring high-quality, seasonal produce.
• Manage inventory and ordering of supplies, including working with purveyors to source the best ingredients possible.
• Maintain a clean and organised kitchen, including adhering to all health and safety regulations.
• Collaborate with the front-of-house team in creating a seamless dining experience for guests.
• Training and development of the kitchen team.
• Financial management including labour, food costs, procurement implementing strategies to control expenses.

Experience and Attributes Required: 

• A modern twist on Kiwiana cuisine and high end gastro pub experience is preferred. 
• Proven experience running an effective kitchen that provides an exceptional food offering to guests.
• Confidence and experience creating and delivering new food concepts and menu development.
• Impeccable time management skills.
• Has a hands on approach, leads by example and is able to execute daily guest requests and menu changes.
• Commitment to a flexible roster across weekends.
• Due to the location, you will need to have your own reliable transport.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2+ years' experience as a Head Chef.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to multitask.
• Previous experience in a busy environment particularly across the spring/summer months.
