Luxury Hotel in Auckland seeking an experienced and reputable Head Pastry Chef to lead this function in their leading & highly recognised restaurant.
Our client: Since opening their doors in the Auckland market they have made their mark in the hospitality circles - achieving many accolodaes through what has become an iconic Auckland restaurant. You will have the opportunity to work closely with one of the biggest 'chef names' in New Zealand.
The role:
The purpose of the role is to lead the pastry function within the wider operation. Albeit small with one direct report at present you will have the opportunity for creative autonomy (ensuring it is aligned to the overall direction & vision of the restaurant) and delivering an experience like not other when it comes to desserts.
Some key areas of responsibility will inculude:
-People leadership
-Creativity & menu Development
-Quality control
-Commercial & strategic accumen
Skills & experienced required: -Pastry experience from high end, reputable standalone restaurants or luxury 5* hotels
-Proven experience leading a team or individual and developing their skills
-Menu development & cost management experience
-Team player that brings positive energy & ideas to the table
What you will be rewarded with: -$80k + per annum (experience dependendant)
-40x hours per week spread across 5x days
